Moving thru cloudy skies

After having a day of 76 degree weather, we woke up to the clouds moving in and temperatures dropping. Since so much was closed in the Park, we decided to move on. This time we drove down the opposite side of Flathead Lake.
The other side of Flathead Lake. 2 days earlier was sunny and bright.

I took lots of pictures of the skies because we haven't seen clouds like this at home in some time.

We stopped at St Ignatius Mission, St. Ignatius. Beautiful painting inside. Painted by the cook at the Mission.

Sisters quarters.

Heading to Missoula, Mt. Jack fishing tomorrow on Creek in downtown.

Glacier National Park

We left Coeur d'Alene this morning, Tues. April 28. Down Hwy 90 to St. Regis, Hwy 135 to Hwy 200 to Hwy 28 meeting Hwy 93 where we drove along the coast of Flathead Lake. What a beautiful Lake.
Rv parking at Kalispell, MT.

First view of the Glacier Mtns.

Going in to the Park at the West Entrance. Park is open but nothing inside, no tours or visitor centers. We drove up the Going to the Sun road as far as it was open, which was at Avalanche, about 15 miles.

Flathead Creek.

Views were amazing. All this water rushing and thundering. We stopped at several spots along the road.

Lake McDonald.

My favorite picture.

These are tree roots on the lakeshore.

We are camped here at North American RV, about 5 min from the entrance to Glacier. Very few of us here and that goes for the whole area. All the trails are open to walk. We imagine this place is bustling in the summer. Today was also our warmest day. It started out at 36 degrees this morning. By afternoon it was 76 here. Yeah!!! Capris and short sleeves!
Lots of pictures this time, but figure they tell the story on their own!
Miss you all!

Idaho

We arrived at Coeur d'Alene and stayed at the Elks lodge. We have stayed here before and enjoyed the spot. We have one other motorhome here with us. Big green area for the dogs to roam free. They are loving it.

We caught up with some retired friends here. The Hanson Boys. Went to Doug's house yesterday. Dan lives just across the block. Beautiful properties.  Our other friend who lives int he same neighborhood is off roaming elsewhere, Texas.

Tonight we were treated to dinner. Fun time catching up, reminiscing, and laughing.
Tomorrow we are off to Montana. I think we will hit 2000 miles traveled then.  Weather should be in the 70's for a few days.
