What a difference a day makes!

I think 2 feet of snow fell. People were stranded on the highway. It was so cold.
Here are the fly fishing rods frozen to the ground.

Our outing on Mother's Day...

One of the bronze statues at the campground. There were many positioned all around. This one of the buffalo and wolf in the snow looked so real. We could see it from the motorhome and each of us looked at it thinking it was real at some point!

Mother's Day snow.

Trying to get the snow off the slides before we could roll them in and get on the road.
Off we went to Rapid City and Mount Rushmore.

This is the view of the Black Hills.

After we checked in we jumped in the car and headed up toward Mt. Rushmore. Bear Country USA was along the way.
We decided to go to it. If you remember Lion Country Safari, this is similar. We drove in and followed the road around. There were a great number of animals in each area.
 Big Horn Sheep

Elk

Dreadlocks sheep??

Bears, they won't cross these barriers. They just greet you as you drive across.

Bear sunning himself.

This bear was munching on the log.

Up close with a buffalo having a drink.

There were 7 little bear cubs in the baby section. They were pretty cute romping around.
This was a fun stop.
then off to Mt. Rushmore, even though it was 5:30 pm...
