Looks like the Dragon is really in there breathing out.
Travertine terraces. Colors are from different types of thermophiles. Hot water is running throughout this area and building up the terraces.
Elk in the Fort Yellowstone area. Fort was built to protect the park before the forest service was started, the army protected it back then.
This day was awesome. The first rainbow we were marveling at as it was on the ground and going across the river, then the second one showed. They were complete rainbows too. Beautiful!!
This guy was deciding whether to cross the road or not, and you must give them right of way. So, slowly we passed.
Here he is coming toward everyone. All were running and the ranger yelling "get in your cars". Some of those crazy photographers just tried to move to another position.
I did take this picture. I know it doesn't look like it. Inspiring. It started hailing on us and we made a fast walk back to the car.
Jack having a cold drink, same hotel. This place was the first hotel in Yellowstone, built in the early 1900's. Most recently remodeled in 2014. I think I like it the best. Not very rustic, very elegant. Those windows look out over the lake, what a view.
Last night in Yellowstone, Mom and I went in search of animals about 6:30 pm. There was crowd on the road here looking at the bull elk.
This is the campground at Fishing Bridge. Pretty close together, no picnic tables or fire rings, but full hook ups. Only campground in whole park with hook ups. Due to the temperatures being in the 30's at night we wanted electricity to run our portable heaters.
We ran in to the Frapier family traveling in some of the same areas we were. This is our friends John & Lori Bond's daughter and family. So fun. Leah and Henry off for showers and laundry. We both commented we weren't ready for the camera, we are camping.
Ok those are the highlights from Yellowstone...just a taste because we saw so much there in our 5 days.
